My suggestion for removing the stains would be to use a paste of baking soda and water. Let the mixture set on the stains for about twenty minutes, then wash it with bluing (http://www.mrsstewart.com/) added to the wash.

Or try Oxyclean and let it soak for a good long while. Sometimes those yellow stains just don't come out - unfortunately.

I grew up in a rural community watching farmers too. I remember the schools letting out early so that the kids could go help with harvest. I love your vintage sheeting finds...lovely. Im enjoying your blog so much. Now Im off to see what else I can find here.
