August Lately

Out with the Old, In with the New

I know this blog has been quiet, and for that I apologize. The holiday rush swooped down upon me before I realized it (we had NO SNOW here in Vermont until Christmas night!) and the past three weeks have consisted of my scrambling to keep up with it all.

Adorneya had a terrific and busy holiday season. I'm really happy about that. I managed to keep an excellent turn-around rate despite being quite swamped at times and dealing with life's complexities to boot. I'm proud of that too!

Now my mind begins to turn to 2007- The change to August Lately and all of the things that come with the change. In some ways I'm having cold feet about letting Adorneya go, but I still feel that it's the right thing to do. I knew I would have these doubts, which is why I had custom-woven August Lately labels made months ago- there's no turning back after you've spent over $100 on labels, now is there?

On another note, I get to celebrate: I was recently featured on Crafty Synergy and Outblush featured my gunmetal and turquoise bracelet, both of which have brought a good amount of traffic and new customers to Adorneya. Yay!

A Very Sad Day

I am very sad to report that the body of James Kim was found today. We all hoped and prayed so hard, it's still beyond comprehension that it has ended this way.

My heart breaks for the whole family, but mostly for Kati. She and James worked so hard and did everything right to protect their children. They deserved a happy ending.

The family and friends website, jamesandkati.com, is collecting donations. They have not determined exactly where the money will be allocated, but there has been mention of donating to the search and rescue teams that worked so hard to bring them all home alive.

If I hear any more about ways to honor James, I will share them here.

Kati Kim and her two daughters were found alive this afternoon and were airlifted to a local hospital.

James left the family 2 days ago to search for help and has not yet been found. Please continue to send good thoughts to James and hope that the family will be reunited soon!

The Kim Family Needs Your Prayers!

Kati Kim of Doe SF (a well-known indie friendly boutique in San Francisco) and her family have been missing for a week.

They disappeared somewhere along the coast of Oregon where authorities believe bad weather caused them to go off the road.

James and Kati have two little girls, Penelope is 4 and Sabine is just 7 months old.
