The Return of the Missing Blogger

Yes, I know. bad blogger. I've been busy with life in general, but also getting ready for the super busy holiday season and working on some great new items.

The most notable of which is the medium messenger bag. I've been wanting to expand the messenger bag line for a while, and here's the new addition:

It's just the right size for books and magazines, and the outer zipper pocket is perfect for storing a wallet, cell phone and keys- things that you need to get to quickly without dealing with the flap.

Of course, it's available as a Design Your Own bag, so you can choose your own favorite from dozens of fabric combinations! New fabrics are added on a regular basis, so be sure to stop by often.

Hooray for Professional Photos!

The super-talented T.S. Harrington did a photo shoot for August Lately today and she was kind enough to upload a preview image for me:

The model's name is Cara- I was so excited when she agreed to model my bags. In a few weeks, there will be many more lovely images to share, and I can't wait to get the new brochure printed up!

June? Already?

So, where did May go? Anybody see it? I think I may have seen it briefly between sewing custom bridesmaids gifts for hours on end!

Many brides-to-be have ordered custom pocket clutches and matching mirrors for their bridesmaids this year, and I've taken the opportunity to photograph them before they are sent out. Here are some made from our newest fabrics. I think they're gorgeous!

It's been a very busy season here at August Lately, and unfortunately, that means blog neglect. I'm still here though, and sewing away! I have an idea for a new shoulder bag that I can't wait to work on as soon as I get caught up with custom orders. Stay tuned!

Design Your Own!!

I've been working really hard these past few weeks! I'm working on inventory for the Queen City Craft Bazaar and continuing to develop the Design Your Own line of products. The latest addition is Design Your Own Pocket Mirrors- They can be made with any fabric from the fabric gallery. These little beauties are just 2.25 inches across and can be ordered along with any of our Design Your Own Handbags or as a sweet little (affordable) gift for yourself or someone else!

I'm really excited to announce that August Lately now offers six design-your-own custom accessories including two different styles of wristlets, clutches, a wallet and a messenger bag.

There are currently 49 fabric choices available and the collection is quickly growing!

The Long Wristlet

This sleek wristlet is the perfect everyday bag to carry you necessities in style.

At 9 inches wide and 4 inches tall, it will hold our coordinating wallet perfectly with room to spare for your cell phone and keys.

The detachable 12 inch wrist strap doubles as a keychain.

100% cotton, fully interfaced for stability. A small magnetic snap holds the flap securely closed.

The Wallet

This compact, yet roomy wallet has room for all of your financial essentials. It also fits perfectly inside our long wristlet, which can be made in any of the available fabric combinations as well.

This wallet features three inner pockets (one zippered) and two card slots that will easily hold up to six credit cards. If you like to carry a checkbook, simply tuck it inside one of the pockets and away you go!

The small magnetic snap keeps the wallet securely closed and the optional d-ring allows you to attach a key fob for easy and secure carrying. 

Blizzards, Cold and Flu, Oh My!

It all started a week ago when our oldest son came down with the stomach flu. We knew it was only  a matter of time. Then our youngest Tuesday morning, then myself Tuesday night and through Wednesday, then my husband Wednesday night. What a romantic Valentine's day. Add on top of all that (literally!) a couple feet of snow and temps hovering around zero and you've got yourself a pretty miserable week! Luckily we're all on the mend now, and looking forward to February break.

My creativity is slowly returning and I've got several works in progress at the moment, including a new wristlet design. I made some new fabric cards as a quick crafty pick-me-up, available on the site now.

I've also got lots of yummy new fabric on the way. Some is on backorder until March, but I promise it is worth the wait!
